Lions nab Eye Hospital is run by a charitable trust, “Lions Comprehensive Eye care Foundation, Miraj” in association with National Association for the Blind, Sangli and is serving the poor & needy eye patients from rural area of South Maharashtra & North Karnataka. This organization is a Public Charitable Trust working selflessly in the field of Eye care, research, education and community work. This is one of the rare charity organizations that are ISO 9001:2008 Certified. In spite of about 50% of eye surgeries being done free of cost, no compromise is done on quality issue. The most unique feature of Lions nab Eye Hospital, Miraj is the education and training for all levels of personnel in Ophthalmology. For medical students aspiring to become specialized in Ophthalmology are Post Graduate Courses like DNB and D.O.M.S. Those who wish to further specialize can get super specialty fellowships in Vitreo-Retina or Pediatrics Ophthalmology. Two year fellowships are available in General Ophthalmology, Vitreo-Retina and Pediatrics Ophthalmology. College of Optometry conducts Graduate and Diploma Courses in Optometry. For paramedical personnel, there are various courses and trainings.
